What is important for achieving high rankings

First you have to know that important factors for achieving high rankings are  internal and external and maybe you may know the on-site SEO and the off-site SEO. 

Both groups of factors are important and even more: They influence themselves.

For instance if you build high PR backlinks (external factor) you need to balance the keyword content on your website (internal factor) with keyword and text of your backlinks.

Here a short overview:

Internal factors on-site:

• The URL page name
• The meta description tag and the meta keyword tag
• Not duplicated content
• Sitemap

External factors off-site:

• Age of the backlinks
• Link quality
  
• Link variability

Don't stop to think about this: Link quality is far more important than link quantity.
